The Story
From the sunniest section of Tenuta La Braccesca, Bramasole is Antinori’s distinctive expression of Syrah in Cortona. First produced in 2000, the wine reflects the family’s innovative approach to a variety that has found an exceptional home in this Tuscan territory. The 2017 vintage is powerful and rich, yet balanced by refined tannins and a supple texture.
Aroma
Ripe cherry and blackberry lead into layers of warm spice and sweet licorice, with subtle vanilla adding depth from the French oak.
Palate
Powerful, rich and well-balanced, with concentrated dark fruit supported by well-established tannins and a smooth, generous texture. Blackberry and ripe cherry are complemented by spice, licorice and subtle vanilla.

Long and well defined, with lingering blackberry and vanilla followed by sweet licorice and gentle spice.

Cortona DOC · Tuscany · Italy Bramasole comes from Tenuta La Braccesca in Cortona, an area of Tuscany particularly well suited to Syrah. The estate’s clay-loam soils and the warm, dry conditions of the 2017 growing season helped produce a concentrated wine with pronounced varietal character.
The Blend
100% Syrah
Syrah gives Bramasole its deep fruit profile, spice, structured tannins and supple richness, expressing the variety through the distinctive terroir of Cortona.
The Cellar
Following fermentation and approximately 15 days of skin maceration, the wine was transferred to small French oak barrels, both new and second fill, where malolactic fermentation took place. It then aged for approximately 18 months before being bottled in spring 2019.
